TRAVIS BARKER and wife SHANNA MOAKLER decided to end their marriage because she agreed to become a contestant on DANCING WITH THE STARS.
The couple announced they were separating earlier this month (08AUG06), amid rumours the former MISS USA was unfaithful during their marriage.
However, a source close to Moakler tells American publication Us Weekly her participation in the show was the real reason behind the split, saying, "When he found out, he flipped and told her he wanted a wife, not a Hollywood socialite."
Barker posted a rant on his MySpace Web page on 14 August (06), claiming he first heard about his wife's new gig from his real estate agent.
Moakler has slammed reports she was unfaithful during their marriage and tells the magazine, "I'm seriously concerned for his mental well-being.
"Perhaps the lifestyle that he leads is taking its toll. For the sake of our children I hope he seeks help."

Tokyo's subway has refused permission for an advertising poster featuring a nude and heavily pregnant Britney Spears, branding it "too stimulating" for young people.
The publishers had hoped to display the cover photo for a week at a subway station in a trendy part of central Tokyo, but ran into resistance.
"We thought some of our customers would find it to be overly stimulating," said a Tokyo Metro official.
Harper's Bazaar could not be reached for comment.
Not all was lost. The Metro and the publishers agreed to display the poster after all but masked the picture below the former teen idol's elbow with a statement reading: "We apologize for hiding part of a beautiful image of a mother-to-be."

The crooning heiress is living with Brandon Davis, according to Life & Style weekly. Davis is the oil heir who introduced the phrase “fire crotch” to the public when his ramblings about Lindsay Lohan were caught on tape. Earlier this month, Hilton declared, “I’m not doing it with anyone [for a year]. I just want to concentrate on work.”
Davis has been living with Hilton at her Hollywood Hills home since leaving rehab in July, according to the mag. He went into rehab after his infamous "fire crotch" quote was made public, although earlier this month he climbed on stage in Miami during Hilton’s record launch and used the same phrase with regards to Lohan.
His family is selling their home, so Brandon’s been shacking up with Paris at her place off the Sunset Strip,” an “insider” tells L&S. “All his clothes, his toiletries and even some of the artwork he owns.”
But the arrangement is reportedly more than temporary. Says the source: “They’re hooking up, but she doesn’t want anyone to know about it. It’s being kept very hush-hush.”

On the night he met Demi:

Britney Spears' shopping excursions need to be quick these days, toting around a baby tends to crush one's shopping groove. This recent excursion was no exception- the pop princess managed to blow $5,000 in just 30 minutes!

While son Sean Preston cat napped in the car (no, he was NOT alone), the pop star blew through the trendy store Intuition in Los Angeles. The pop diva picked up a "Lock Up Your Daughters" jumpsuit for her son, as well as other baby tees because, as she told store clerks, Sean likes to sleep in t-shirts.
The expecting mom definitely didn't leave herself out of the shopping spree. She also picked a truck load of items for herself, including a pair of Habitual Knocked Up maternity jeans.
Other items in the singer's shopping bag include a brown polka dot headband (which Britney loved because it reminded her of Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman"), a round raffia hat and a green Jano by Anja Flynt purse that Brit actually wore home.
Folks at the store said that most of the clothes Britney bought for herself are intended to be worn after the birth of her second child, as inspiration to get back down to her normal size. Good luck Brit!
Sources inside the store say the pop star seemed very happy and was a "total sweetheart" to everyone inside Intuition. The diva wasn't very "diva-like" they said, and only asked for a cup of ice while she power shopped.

Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock exchanged vows once again – this time at Nashville's notable Tootsie's Orchid Lounge in the wee hours of Thursday morning, according to Kirt Webster, the groom's Nashville-based publicist.
The unsuspecting crowd at Tootsie's was taken by surprise when the singer on stage, Dustin Wilkes, announced: "You guys aren't going to believe what we have next – Kid Rock and Pam Anderson are going to get married on stage and we're not even kidding," a Tootsie's patron, McKenzie Davis, told PEOPLE. "The place went crazy."
The club's staff were equally shocked by the star couple's appearance. "We had no idea they were coming until they walked through the door," said Tootsie's bartender Stephanie Rose.
The ceremony, which took place on the stage, was performed by Davidson County General Sessions Judge John Brown just after midnight, according to Kid Rock's rep, Kirt Webster. The bride and groom both wore white – hers a white Juicy dress and his a tank top.
"They did the regular vows, and when it came to the 'I do' part, he responded 'Hell yes!,' " said Davis. "Her response was, 'Unfortunately yes!' and she got a laugh out of that."

Now Page Six is calling b.s. by compiling a list of past published reports in which Cruise supposedly and suspiciously came to the rescue.

* In 2003, while filming The Last Samurai in New Zealand, Cruise supposedly helped a local family change a flat tire on a country road and assisted a young girl in catching her runaway horse. He also donated $3,800 to a local school that needed a “sun shelter.”

* In 1998, Cruise rushed to the defense of a woman being mugged on a London street and stopped thieves from making off with more than $150,000 in jewelry.

* In 1996, he summoned an ambulance to help an aspiring actress who was the victim of a hit-and-run, then paid her $7,000 emergency room bill.

* While he and then-wife Nicole Kidman were vacationing on a 210-foot yacht in Capri in 1993, they were reported to have come to the aid of a family whose yacht had caught on fire. Cruise and Kidman allegedly rescued the family from their life raft and took them aboard their luxury yacht until help arrived.

* That same year, Cruise was said to have pulled two young boys to safety after they were almost crushed in a mob of out-of-control fans at the London premiere of “Mission: Impossible.”

When Hollywood couples move to Splitsville, it never seems to be a smooth transition. The recent split between Blink 182's Travis Barker and wife and former Miss USA Shanna Moakler is no exception, and now the split has spilled into MySpace.
Shanna "officially" commented on the split last Tuesday on her MySpace page, telling fans that she was devastated by the demise of her marriage. Now, following in her footsteps, Travis Barker has lashed back with a detailed blog on his MySpace page describing in his opinion what life with the Barkers was actually like and what it was that he says wrecked their marriage.
Travis says at one point he found condoms at his house and says "we don't use condoms ever." He talks about her alleged partying and claims that a "normal" day is him and the kids getting up around 7 a.m. while Shanna sleeps in until 2 p.m The nanny, who he says the kids often call "mommy," gets the kids ready for the day while Shanna takes care of more important things like getting her nails done. Barker also says his wife didn't tell him about her turn on "Dancing with the Stars."
In his letter he says that when you're pushed, you push back.
This morning, Shanna issued the following statement to TMZ: "If that MySpace site was truly created by Travis then I'm seriously concerned for his mental well being. The picture he paints is so far-fetched that I can't believe this is his reality. If it is, then I'm truly concerned for him. Perhaps the lifestyle he leads is taking its toll on him. For the sake of our children I hope that he seeks professional help."

No surprise to some last week when blink-182 drummer Travis Barker filed for divorce from his wife, former Miss USA Shanna Moakler. The couple, who star on MTV's "Meet the Barkers," have fought in public for months. One friend of Travis says he finally ended the marriage because "Shanna is never home . . . She parties every night, sleeps until 1 p.m. every day, and doesn't spend nearly enough time with the kids. And on top of that there have been rumors she hasn't been faithful. He's had it." Barker, via a rep, said, "I'm sad to say those allegations are true . . . My priority will remain my children." The couple have two kids together. But Moakler, via her rep, said: "I have been 100 percent faithful in my marriage and a devoted mother, two facts of which Travis is well aware. I still happen to be very much in love with Travis, and his using the media to take low blows at me isn't just embarrassing, it's hurtful. I feel he should be putting his family first instead of his pride." To which Barker responded, "The truth will prevail."

Shanna Moakler has a new partner – dance partner, that is. The Meet the Barkers star, whose split from husband Travis Barker was announced recently, will compete with pro dancer Jesse DeSoto against other celeb/dancer pairs on the third season of Dancing with the Stars, ABC said Monday.
The show, which kicks off with a two-hour season premiere on Sept. 12, will also feature actor Harry Hamlin (husband of Dancing season-two alum Lisa Rinna), Kill Bill star Vivica A. Fox and Saved by the Bell actor Mario Lopez.
Other celebs who will compete for a mirror-ball trophy include MSNBC news anchor Tucker Carlson, talk-show host Jerry Springer, Monique Coleman from the Disney Channel's High School Musical, country singer Sara Evans, pop star Willa Ford, onetime teen idol Joe (formerly Joey) Lawrence and NFL champ Emmitt Smith.

After her husband, Travis Barker, filed for divorce on Monday, Shanna Moakler is telling fans she still believes in "the power of love" but is "heartbroken over the demise of my marriage."
In a message posted on her MySpace.com blog on Tuesday, where she lists her "current mood" as "disappointed," the former Miss USA writes, "I can only say thank you to all those who have sent such touching letters, well wishes and prayers. I am very devastated and very much heartbroken over the demise of my marriage and for the upset of my family." (The message's authenticity was confirmed by Moakler's publicist.)
Her post continues, "I wanted nothing more (than) to overcome the challenges we faced but failed. Legal papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court state that petitioner "Tara Patrick, a.k.a. Carmen Electra," 34, and Navarro, 39, wed on Nov. 22, 2003, and separated on July 18, 2006 – the day after they announced they were "amicably separating."
Citing irreconcilable differences, Electra requests that their assets be divided as specified in their prenuptial agreement and that the court not award spousal support to either party. They have no children.

The show, which revolves around Conrad, 19, won't be able to air a violent break-up between Conrad and her boyfriend since producers hadn't yet started shooting the new season when the dramatic break-up took place, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler of MTV’s Meet the Barkers have decided to end their marriage of almost two years.
“I can confirm that Travis filed for divorce today but have no further comment,” says Barker’s rep, Dvora Vener.
“Shanna was caught completely by surprise,” a source close to the couple tells Us.
“She was trying to get him to couple’s therapy, but he wouldn’t go. He pretended he was working things out but screwed her over, leaving her with a baby daughter.”
Earlier this year, a source at MTV told Us that trouble in the marriage forced the network to cut short the 2006 season of Meet the Barkers. MTV reduced its order from 10 episodes to six due to the couple’s constant fighting and the fact that the crew had difficulty getting Barker and Moakler in the same room together.

Lauren Conrad of The Hills confirms the split exclusively to Us. “Yes it is true, Jason and I are no longer together, but out of respect for his privacy I am not going to discuss the details of the breakup,” she says.
“Even though I am on a reality based show and I live much of my life in a fish bowl, I think anyone would understand that I need to keep some of my life private.”
Sources tell Us that it was Conrad who broke it off with boyfriend Jason Wahler. “He had been going out to clubs, flirting with girls, staying out late,” says a pal of Conrad’s.
“She wanted to focus on school and her career and was ready to move on. She feels really good about her decision.”
A second source adds she had a JASON tattoo covered up at the Hart & Huntington tattoo parlor at the Palms Casino resort last weekend when she and fellow Hills star Heidi Montag were visiting Sin City.

"Yes, Brody and I broke up," Cavallari says. "It's just hard right now because I am working all the time. We're still good friends though."

She continues, "I wanted to do what Marilyn Monroe did (during the Korean War), when she went and just set up a stage and did a concert for the troops all by herself. But she does like to fool with the press – she was 40 minutes late to the Elle interview – and tell reporters "things that aren't true … just because it's fun." Then, too, she admits, when it comes to tabloid attention she "still sort of" loves it.

Swanson, 36, an actress best known for her starring role in the 1992 movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Eisler, 43, a former Olympic figure skater, met last year while filming the FOX reality competition.
They began dating in December, their publicist, Cheryl Kagan, tells the AP.
In fact, their romance created a scandal in the skating community. At the time, Eisler was married and his wife, Marcia O'Brien, was pregnant with their second child.
The Eislers officially separated on Nov. 30, two weeks later O'Brien gave birth to son Seth, now 8 months (big brother Ethan is 2).
